c't calls to a search machine optimization contest. A goal is it, for the term Hommingberger Gepardenforelle a Top position in the Google.de -, Yahoo.de MSN.de and Seekport.de Ergebnislisten too ergattern. c't observes the positionings of the best Sites in the hit lists during the competition. At two deadlines, on 15 May as well as on 15 December in each case at 11.00 o'clock, we determine the Gewinnersites, which we will publish also on heise on-line.
The competition is to make a view of the Rankingmechanismen of the search services and current trends for the optimization possible - legitimate like unwanted -. The model Nigritude Ultramarine brought some new developments in the last year to the light. On the Heise homepage we furnished an information page, which interested participants and over the competition up to date holds. There is also a forum.

On today's Sunday at eleven o'clock ended the first phase of the search machine optimization contest of c't. On 16 April c't had called to optimize web pages for the term Hommingberger Gepardenforelle in such a way that it on today's 15 May as well as on 15 December at 11 o'clock Top positions in the result lists of Google.de, Yahoo.de, MSN.de and Seekport.de to reach in each case. For the invented term the search machines to the point of starting time did not supply hits.
The results make first interesting conclusions possible on the Ranking procedure of the search machines. The success of the Wikipedia is a little amazing for example. The Site is a "Authority", a side, which is generally well platziert by search machines, among other things, because she is linked by many other Sites. Apart from it the Wikipedia reported for the first day on the competition and its article regularly updated -- search services estimate fresh, own contents. That led to the fact that Google presented the encyclopedia in fourth place of the results and to Yahoo on third (with the placements we do not have the c't sides www.hommingberger gepardenforelle.de/ and http://www.heise.de/ct/SEO competition as well as the Heise Tickermeldungen taken in account). MSN however did not lead Wikipedia during the entire competition under the first 100 hits. Whether it was because of the competition relationship to the Microsoft encyclopedia Encarta?
Christian unite, who is Web master of kackstelze.de, surprised by the success of its Site: It has neither such high Reputation like the Wikipedia still leads it, differently than many Wettbewerbssites, the keywords in the Domain name. In addition it did not even exhaust all possibilities of the on-the-PAGE-OPTIMIZATION in such a way specified (thus such methods, which refer to adjustments of the source text and side contents). Nevertheless the Site occupies first, with Google third, with MSN with Yahoo fifth and with Seekport four tenth rank. That might be among other things because of the fact that the Community, which already is since 2001 at the net is linked from many other Sites. It has more than 35,000 users, whom partially already longer, than the competition runs, to kackstelze.de refer.
Matthias's Meier, who operators of hommingberger gepardenforelle.net, with zero began. It could fall back for its Site neither to an existing Community nor to existing contents. Obviously it created it to adapt contents and the HTML very well on the requirements of the search machines. That the Site succeeded also graphically well and well made contents saves, one of the reasons is safe, why she could pull far more than 2,000 references on itself (bake on the left of).
The tables with the first five results of the search machines for the inquiry Hommingberger Gepardenforelle do not contain out close lying reasons left.
